Michigan Regulator Delivers Cease-and-Desist Orders to Unlawful Offshore Operators

(AsiaGameHub) –   Over the last four months, the MGCB has dispatched letters to 45 offshore gambling operators.

US.- The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has reported issuing cease-and-desist orders to 45 offshore gambling operators during the past four months. The regulatory body indicated that these platforms have been illegally providing online casino games and sports betting to people within the state.

The MGCB cautioned that operators not adhering to a cease-and-desist order may be subject to further civil and criminal penalties.

MGCB executive director Henry Williams stated: “The scale of this initiative delivers an unambiguous message: Michigan will not accept illegal operators focusing on our citizens or harming the legal businesses that have committed to following state law. Our investigators operate with steadfast dedication to find, record, and take measures against every unlicensed platform that endangers Michigan players. This is a continuous endeavor, and we will persist in acting against illegal gambling operators.”

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has recently initiated legal action against Kalshi, claiming the prediction market firm has breached the state’s Lawful Sports Betting Act (LSBA). The legal filing requests an order of abatement and an injunction to stop what the Attorney General describes as the illegal provision of online sports bets to Michigan residents.
