Georgia.- Planet Hollywood Resorts International has entered into a licensing agreement with Orbi Group and Block Group, in collaboration with Iconic Entertainment, to introduce its brand to the first integrated resort in Georgia. The project is currently under construction in the capital, Tbilisi.
The development will feature a 50,000-square-foot casino, a 500-room Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino and a 600-room Radisson Blu hotel. It will also include a 4,000-seat entertainment and special events space, more than 70,000 square feet of Harvey Nichols retail space, along with international dining options, nightlife, and lifestyle amenities.
The initiative is projected to generate over 2,000 permanent jobs.
“This marks a key step in the ongoing global expansion of the Planet Hollywood brand,” said Robert Earl, founder of Planet Hollywood. “Tbilisi is a city with remarkable character and forward momentum. In partnership with our collaborators, we are crafting a destination that unites entertainment, hospitality, and immersive experiences in a manner that is both ambitious and true to the local market.”
Tornike Janashvili, CEO of Block Group, added, “This is a critical juncture for Tbilisi. We are launching a genuine integrated resort — one that enhances the city’s global standing, draws large-scale international visitors, and establishes a new benchmark for hospitality, entertainment, and economic influence in the region.”
The casino will cater to clients from Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, including affluent tourists from neighboring nations such as Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia, along with expatriates.
Last year, the Georgian government implemented new local restrictions, automatically adding public-sector employees and citizens with criminal records to the national gambling exclusion list. The country’s Revenue Service has since confirmed that by the end of the year, there were 1,577,247 people on its exclusion registry in a country with a population of 3.7 million.
This action came after an increase in the legal gambling age in Georgia to 25 in 2024.
